Parents tell me there is such a lack of positive roll models for their children these days. The “in your face” life style choices of the Spear’s sisters as well as many of our sports heroes leave little for parents to celebrate and are sending the wrong messages to their children. They are not representing the types of examples parents want their children to emulate.

Ah….. A wedding. The decision has finally been made! A couple has pledged their never ending love and affection for each other now what? The stage is set for either a big successful motion picture where the bride and groom are the stars of their own well orchestrated production or they will be doomed to a chaotic nightmare of a poorly planned event and shutter while watching their wedding day reruns like old “b” movies on late night TV.

Etiquette, manners, and social skills are sets of tools that guide us through life’s different as well as difficult situations. Manners help us to get along better with those we meet in our daily lives.
How did this all begin? It all started during the reign of the very modest King Louis XIV. He had a very humble and unassuming abode called the Palace of Versailles. As you might imagine, having such a spectacular place, he entertained regularly. He became very irritated when his guests trounced on his tulips, disrespected his dahlias, and liquidated his lavender. One day he asked his gardener to put up little signs so that his guests knew where to walk, to stay on the path, and to respect his well manicured gardens.

The Current job market has left many joining the ranks of the unemployed. Unprecedented in our life time, there are millions looking for a job. The market has become over saturated with jobseekers with similar degrees and skill sets. This makes it a buyers market for hiring employees. Employers are looking for employees who will best represent their company’s image or branding.
So, surviving the current job market requires some changes in the way we presently think about things. It requires us to take several steps not just to get noticed but to be remembered as well! How to be unique is not as difficult as it seems.
